SPOT GPS

Here is the link to my SPOT GPS shared page. It only shows information that I've sent in the last 7 days. So if it's empty it just means I haven't used it lately but I'm still OK.

First Step

Every journey starts with a first step. Today I took mine. I'm out of the house and on the road to somewhere. Wherever I go there I'll be. Letting go of the house was a hard decision I fretted about for a long time. But it was time. I touched every part of the house inside and out. I gave it a new life and did enough for one developer not to knock it down. (for now).

It took me all the time right up to the minute I pulled out the driveway to finish packing and cleaning. It will take some time to get the inside of the RV organized buts it's livable and cozy.

As planned I stopped at the Flying J in Ellensberg. If you drive an eighteen wheeler and like other eighteen wheelers it would be a good place to park. Not much room for RV'ers. I decided to push on to Vantage and spending my first night at Wanapum State Park on the Columbia river. Even made it in time for a short run.

Honestly it's a little hard to leave new and old friends behind in Seattle. I know you are all along with me (figuratively and some some wishing literally). :-) on the journey. Please feel free to contact me any time. I am just traveling not disappearing. I'm tired from all the work it took getting to this point. Tired from all that happened in the last year. Now is the first time I feel like I'm getting my break.

First lesson: take the kayak locks out of the kayak before you put it in a bag and on top of the trailer.

Miles traveled: 146

  1. Congratulations, John! You've worked hard in coming to a difficult decision, and you've worked hard to prepare for your journey. Now is your time to take a break! I hope you revel in the recharging. And, if/when you get tired of traveling, we might let you back into Seattle! ;-) -Lori
